Month-Long 'Winter Clothing Gift Program 2024' Inaugurated
The chilling cold has started to settle across the country, hitting remote areas the hardest. Every year, winter brings extreme suffering for the poor and helpless due to a lack of warm clothing. Dense fog and freezing winds add to their struggles, making survival even more difficult.
Like every year, Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir (BICS) has launched its month-long Winter Clothing Gift Program, running from December first to December 31.
On December 5 (Thursday), at 2:00 PM, the central president of Shibir, Monzurul Islam, inaugurated the program by distributing winter clothes among the students of Choto Dewra Agrani High School in Gazipur. The local branches of the organization had already begun implementing the program as per instructions given earlier this month.
This year, the initiative aims to distribute hundreds of thousands of warm clothes across the country, with each member committed to gifting at least one piece of winter clothing. Alongside this effort, Shibir has called on the government and wealthy individuals to stand by the helpless during this harsh season.
This campaign highlights the urgent need to help those who cannot protect themselves from the cold, reminding everyone of their responsibility to bring warmth and comfort to those in need.
