Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir has strongly protested the false remarks by Inspector General of Police, AKM Shahidul Islam, regarding Shibir, when he said, “The deceased militant at Panthapath was a Shibir activist”.
Today, Mobarak Hossain, the Secretary General of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, toured the flood affected areas and distributed aid among flood affected people in Jamalpur. At this time, he was accompanied by Central Library Secretary Hasnain Ahmed, Gazipur City President Abdul Jalil Akanda, Mymensingh City President Jashim Uddin, Jamalpur Zila President Khandakar Moqaddes Ali, and other local leaders.
Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir strongly protests the baseless and false attempt by mass media such as Bangla Tribune and BDnews to defame the good name of Chhatrashibir by connecting the organization with the attack on two Chhatra League workers in Sylhet.
16 people were abducted this month, and 12 were recovered alive after abduction, while 2 were recovered dead after being killed. In 36 instances of political violence, 5 were killed, 306 injured and 15 bullet ridden. In various arrest drives, 36 instances of arrests occurred, and 883 people were arrested, among them opposition group members and common people.
Yasin Arafat, the President of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir said that the members of the Islamic movement are fearless and always ready to sacrifice in any capacity while advancing along the path of the Deen. Therefore the Islamic movement cannot be supressed through oppression, false accusations or torture.
