Shibir expresses deep condolences at passing away of Ataur Rahman

Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir has expressed deep shock and condolences at the passing away of former Central Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Amir, former Amir of Rajshahi City and valiant freedom fighter Ataur Rahman.

In a joint condolence message, Shibir's central president Yasin Arafat and secretary general Mobarak Hossain said that the deceased passed away at his residence at Rajshahi City on Tuesday night (Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi Raajiun). His contribution to the spread of Islam and to spread the Islamic movement among the masses is huge. He participated in the Great War of Liberation and dedicated his life to the country. He played an important role in the politics of this country. Despite the torture and persecution by the Awami League government, he was also persistent in his beliefs and stances. In his death, we have lost a leader and guardian of the Islamic movement. At the death of this brave leader, the country and the nation has faced an irreparable loss. His steadfast journey to establish a welfare state in Bangladesh has long been an inspiration for everyone involved in the Islamic movement. The country and nation will remember his legacy with reverence.

The leaders expressed their deep sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed to Allah Almighty to accept all his righteous deeds and place him in Paradise.
