Stand beside the cold affected people for humanitarian reasons

Yasin Arafat, the central president of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, said that there was no limit to the hardships of the poor people in the extreme cold conditions. Many people are unable to buy winter warm clothes due to financial inability. Due to the absence of warm clothes, they are living in extremely bad conditions. So it is our moral responsibility to stand beside the cold affected people due to humanitarian reasons.

He said this at a local auditorium in Thakurgaon at the initiative of Thakurgaon City Branch of Chhatra Shibir, as the chief guest, at program for distribution of winter clothes among the affected students. Presided over by Thakurgaon city president Rajiur Rahman Raju and under the chairmanship of Secretary Zubayer Al Masum, the meeting was attended by central science secretary Rashedul Islam, acting district president Saiful Islam, city organizing secretary Shah Alam, district and city leaders.

Later he distributed warm clothes among the helpless poor people in a local auditorium, organized by Shibir Dinajpur City Branch in the afternoon. Presided over by Dinajpur city president Sohel Rana, local leaders including central science secretary Rashedul Islam, city secretary Tofail Ahmed and city organizing secretary Abul Kalam were also present.

The Shibir president said, there is no way to understand the pain and suffering of the cold affected poor people, if one does not see them from near. Every year, a large part of the population suffers from cold in the winter. Especially in the northern part of the country, where the hardships of the people affected by the flood have not been reduced, and instead there is a further increase in severe suffering in the winter. On one side, buying them all warm clothes is among the toughest of obstacles, while on the other hand, others suffer from unhealthy diseases due to conditions of cold. The rural landless peasants, field laborers and low-earning people suffer the most in the winter, because they do not have the necessary warm clothes. The number of rich people in the country is not low, but they do not help the cold affected people. Every person needs to have humanity for his fellow humans. Humanitarian responsibility of the wealthy people of the society is to help the helpless poor and those who are in need. Everyone should have compassion, genuine love, harmony and sympathy for all of creation. If the government, the society's rich and wealthy, extend the hands of suppprt to the distressed, unfortunate and cold affected people, the sufferings of the poor people will be greatly reduced.

He said that unselfishly coming forward to help was a great and glorious deed. Therefore, it is necessary for the people of all the professions and classes to come forward spontaneously to help in the absence of warm clothes looking at the human perspective. From the beginning of the establishment of Chhatra Shibir, on the one hand, the poor people are being belped according to capacity, while people of different classes are encouraged to stand beside them. Already every leader has been instructed to stand beside the cold-affected people and continue the distribution of winter clothes in different parts of the country. We hope that the people of all profession will come forward to stand beside the affected people. Insha Allah, such activities of Shibir will continue.
