The martyrs of 11 March are the source of inspiration for the Islamic movement
Mobarak Hossain, the Secretary General of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir said that the green open spaces of Rajshahi University had become red with the blood of the leaders and activists of Shibir, who were the victims of the bloody politics of the evil-oriented student organisations on that day. The brutality of the barbaric elements responsible remain even today. But Chhatra Shibir has not backed down. Instead, we are determined to fulfil the dreams of the martyrs. The martyrs of 11 March are the source of inspiration for the Islamic movement.
He said this at a discussion and Du’a program held by Chhatra Shibir Comilla City Unit at an auditorium on the occasion of Martyrs Day, where he was the chief guest.
The Shibir Secretary General said, the day of the 11th of March of the year 1982 was at the same time a day of extreme sacrifice and a day of barbarity and oppression. On that day, Chhatra Shibir arranged a reception for the newly admitted students at Rajshahi university. However, anti-Islamic elements and parties such as the Chhatra Union, Chhatra League, Chhatra Moitri and several other organisations decided to shamelessly attack and kill in one of their many attempts to stop the progress of Chhatra Shibir. They facilitated the attack on Chhatra Shibir activists by hiring external terrorists. After this vicious attack, two of the brothers attained martyrdom, Shaheed Sabbir and Shaheed Abdul Hamid. The next day, they were joined in their ranks by Shaheed Ayyub. Moreover, after suffering for 10 months, Shaheed Abdul Jabbar passed away on the 28th of December. On that day, Shibir established an unmatched example of utmost courage and patience. The leaders and activists gave their lives, but did not move away an inch from their goal of spreading and establishing the message of the Kalimah.
He further said, that day the forces of evil thought that Chhatra Shibir could be wiped out in a single move through murder and killing on that day. But the spilling of blood cannot extinguish an ideology but only strengthens the movement towards establishing it, as seen by the position of Shibir today. In the path shown by those martyrs, numerous leaders and activists have given their lives for this cause. But the leaders and activists of Chhatra Shibir have never stepped back from their aim, and never will insha’allah. The leaders and activists of Chhatra Shibir believe that such terror and oppression is part of being involved with the Islamic movement. Those who were killed by the forces of evil in the hope that the Islamic movement would vanish, these martyrs have become the icons of inspiration to the activists of the Islamic movement. We strongly believe that a prosperous society will be built through this very inspirational path insha’allah.
